Our Mission

NurtureMe exists because talent is everywhere but opportunities are not.

We are a mission driven early careers ecosystem closing the diversity gap in tech by identifying high potential talent from ethnic minority backgrounds, equipping them with industry specific mentorship and connecting them with organisations committed to meaningful change.

Our Founder

Our founder Patience Ndlovu, knows what it costs to break into an industry that wasn't built with you in mind because she has lived it. As a Black woman who retrained into tech following a distinguished career as a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy, Patience began her tech journey in 2019 with no traditional tech background just the resilience, leadership and discipline that the Navy had given her, and an unshakeable belief that she belonged and she was right.

In seven years, Patience has become an award-winning Senior Infrastructure Specialist(Public Cloud), recognised with Computing's Analyst of the Year, the Women in Tech Rising Star award, and the Makers Changemaker Award in 2024 for her transformative work in her local community. She has been featured in major national diversity campaigns and has spent some of her spare time volunteering with local schools and organisations to change the face of the tech industry to increase representation.

Patience founded NurtureMe because those personal experiences never left her. Her journey including the barriers, the breakthroughs and everything in between fuels her dedication to empower others, lead with empathy and advocate fiercely for diversity in tech. She knows what it feels like to need someone in your corner, and NurtureMe is her way of being that person for others.
